Château Ferrière is one of the smallest estates in the 1855 Classification. Under the direction of Claire Villars-Lurton, the property is fully certified organic and biodynamic, making it a distinct outlier in the appellation for its minimalist winemaking approach.
Ferrière avoids the heavy, highly extracted oak style common in Bordeaux. It relies on a very high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and utilizes concrete eggs and amphorae alongside traditional barrels for aging. The result is a highly precise, lower-alcohol Margaux focused entirely on energy, raw fruit purity, and limestone-driven tension rather than wood spice and density.
