Maison Ventenac 'Cuvée Pierre' is an IGP Pays d'Oc red wine, typically blending Cabernet Sauvignon (around 80%) with Cabernet Franc (around 20%). Named in homage to Olivier Ramé's grandfather, Pierre, this wine is crafted from Maison Ventenac's organically farmed estate vineyards in the Languedoc. The winemaking focuses on expressing the character of the grapes with minimal intervention, often using native yeasts and aging in stainless steel or concrete tanks to preserve freshness and fruit purity, without oak influence.
This approach yields a structured yet supple red wine. Expect aromas of dark fruits like blackcurrant and blackberry, mingling with characteristic Cabernet notes of subtle green pepper and herbs. The palate offers generous dark fruit flavours balanced by good structure and a fresh, vibrant finish. It's a well-made expression of these classic Bordeaux varieties grown successfully under the Languedoc sun.
